WE ARE WHAT WE EAT

Food is more than just fuel for the body: it is a source of spiritual, social, cultural and physical nourishment.

Meals at Himalayan Orchard are mostly homegrown or homemade, using fresh produce from the farm or sourced locally. We offer a mix of North Indian and Western/European dishes, prepared simply and thoughtfully.
** Gluten Free & Lactose Free options are available**
We serve two main meals a day.
A third meal can be arranged with prior notice and is charged between ₹400 and ₹500 per person.

For long stay guests we also offer local pahari dishes, such as sidku (a kind of steamed bun) eaten with ghee and maash-rajmah (daal made of kidney beans and black lentils), as well as wholemeal crepes, eaten with honey and ghee or roasted poppy seed chutney.

Daily dairy products are available, including butter, yoghurt, ghee, buttermilk, and our developing range of hard and soft cheeses, and hopefully apple-wood smoked blue cheeses in the near future.

Non-vegetarian dish can be provided at extra cost of Rs 150/ - per person, on request. Please let us know in advance, when you book. Alternately, you can get the chicken/meat yourself & we'll cook it for you at no extra cost.
We are aspiring towards having our own free range eggs, chicken and mutton (goat) sausages, smoked or unsmoked, using herbs from our herb garden.
A small farm shop on-site offers homemade preserves, honey, and seasonal products to take home.

Weather permitting, meals may be served outdoors — we have a wood-fired pizza oven and barbecue setup.

Evening tea often comes with a homemade cake, especially if there are children around.

A few notes:

We do not stock packaged snacks (like chips or Maggi) or fizzy drinks.
The nearest market is 12 km away (a 40-minute drive), but a small shop in Rukhla (open from 3–7 pm) carries basic essentials.
